Shaygan Kheradpir has earned an outstanding reputation as a business and technology executive since he first started in his career. He has earned a bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. from Cornell University. His major for all levels of education at Cornell University was electrical engineering focusing on control systems.

After graduating, he worked at GTE Laboratories working on network management, routing, and control. Eventually, he became the chief information officer at GTE Corporation where he earned respect due to delivering new products within schedule. GTE Corporation merged with Bell Atlantic to start Verizon in 2000. With Kheradpir serving as the CIO/CTO at Verizon for 11 years, he was a leader of 7,000 members on staff that developed projects and supported IT systems. With Kheradpir as one of their great leaders, he reduced spending in technology around 30 percent by improving the IT assets utilization; outsourcing to India; and negotiating with vendors. From 2011 to 2013, Kheradpir served as the Chief Operations and Technology Officer for Barclays before becoming the Chief Executive Officer at Juniper Networks from January 2014 to November 2014.

With Barclays, he was over the global bank across various sectors. He was over the entire global bank in regards to business, retail, corporate banking, investment banking, wealth, and cards. And he helped Barclays to transform significantly in line with the 21st century industrialization of process, and with product innovation that are relative to consumers, such as Cloudit and Pingit.

To gain his success, Kheradpir built teams that were mission driven in making significant changes that matter to the community, investors, employees, and customers. He also worked hard with innovation and connectivity throughout the traditional disciplined boundaries across global industry segments. And a result of his hard work, perseverance, expertise, and success, he has recently became the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Coriant. As a matter of fact, he has earned that position after closely working with senior management since the early part of the year as the Operating Partner at Marlin Equity Partners.

From the outside looking in, anyone could see that Shaygan Kheradpir was born and destined to succeed. He was born in London to a father who was an ear, nose, and throat doctor. He was raised in Iran, and attended high school in Switzerland at Aiglon College before moving to the United States to attend Cornell University. With all of his knowledge and expertise acquired, he has contributed significantly in the deployment of FiOS at Verizon, in an Integrated Operating Plan at Juniper Networks, and the Pingit mobile money and transform system at Barclays.

He is truly a business and technology executive like no other. Additionally, his credits include other activities, which are the following: being a Cornell University Engineering Council member; serving on the Advisory Board of the YMCA of Greater New York from 2007 to 2010; and serving on a board of the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology from 2010 to 2013.
